This modern surgical technique is now available at our clinic as well, and more and more owners are choosing it when having their pets spayed. In response to growing interest, we have created the necessary conditions at our veterinary clinic to offer this procedure.
Compared to traditional open surgery, the greatest advantage of laparoscopic spaying is that it requires only two very small incisions. Through these tiny openings, the instruments are inserted, allowing the ovaries to be removed in an almost bloodless manner.
The benefits of these small incisions include:
- Less post-operative pain
- Faster recovery time
- In many cases, the protective collar can even be avoided during healing
Of course, pain management is still necessary, but usually for a shorter duration than with conventional surgery.
