I have been working as a veterinarian since 1985, and I consider myself very fortunate to do what I love most. After graduating, I began my career at the Animal Hospital in Hódmezővásárhely.
After one year, I completed my military service in Pécs at the Military Hospital’s Trauma Surgery Department. Upon returning to Szeged, I opened the Small Animal Ambulance, where for nearly 40 years we have been treating companion animals exclusively. Together with my colleagues, Dr. János Szalay and Dr. László Perényi, we founded our joint practice in 1991, which we have been running side by side ever since.
In 1995, I obtained a Specialist Diploma in Small Animal Medicine, followed by further training in exotic animal care in Brno. Later, I was invited to become a founding member of the Hungarian Small Animal Orthopedic Association, as well as the Dietetics Section of the Hungarian Chamber of Veterinarians.
At our practice, we place great emphasis on promoting a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition. For this reason, we have been providing professional dietary counseling since 1987. In addition, since 2003 we have been running a “Puppy Club” program to make the most of the early socialization period, which plays a crucial role in the long-term health and well-being of pets.
My main areas of expertise include general internal medicine, obstetrics, and surgery — covering soft tissue, orthopedic, and spinal procedures. Over the past 40 years, I have always aimed (together with my colleagues) to attend every relevant professional training course in our field. This allows us to support pet owners with the most up-to-date knowledge and advanced medical equipment, ensuring that they can enjoy a long and healthy life together with their beloved companions in the greatest possible safety.
At home, I am also welcomed by my own pets: Pumpa, the adorable pug; Koda, whom we adopted from a shelter and who is my determined running partner every morning; our tabby cats Tangó and Cha-cha-cha; as well as our leopard geckos and tarantulas.
